I have been looking for a laptop and was about to purchase a Lenovo, but I saw this and purchased it. #openbox I am so happy with the storage and portability. I do not use the tablet functionality of my surface book. This surface book is for my adulting chores outside of work and it replaces my Alienware 15x that finally died. Graphics, RAM, and Intel I am happy with the performance. Sound on the computer it could be a bit louder, but I am fine with it. I also bought the Surface Dock 2 to use have an extended desktop. I am a happy IT purchaser. :0) I do a lot of coding with MS Visual Studio Code, MS SQL Server and working with Teams. #lovethekeyboard a major selling point

I have been using computer since 1983 and have been a mac user since 2002. Although the processor is not the most powerful, the screen resolution is not the best, the speaker volume is not the loudest, and there are no Thunderbolt ports, this is by far the best laptop computer I have ever owned! It just works! It reminds me of how MacBook pros used to be years ago! Incredible integration of Microsoft office products and the Windows operating system. The pen integration is absolutely incredible and you feel as if you're writing on paper. The tablet feature is also very nice. I am saying this after originally purchasing a Dell XPS 15 inch 9500 and a HP Spectre x360 and returning both machines because both machines came defective from the factory. Actually, Dell sent me two brand new laptops that were both broken right out of the factory and I returned the machines and got my money back. The HP was overheating and burned my fingers on the keyboard. You could have fried an egg on the keyboard. Also, one of the usb-c ports did not provide enough power to power up a usb-c adapter where an HDMI cable was connected. The HP also had a situation where audio and video are not synchronized using chrome. The HP was just a piece of junk. Don't worry about the high cost of this unit. It is worth every penny!

Love this laptop. It is very versatile with the detachable screen that can be flipped or used separately as a tablet. I bought the 15" version as I need the screen real-estate and it had the 2 TB drive and 32 GB Ram that I had been waiting for. This is my 2nd Surface Book and the extra Ram and larger drive are why I upgraded. I run multiple VM's on the machine and that is why I need the larger drive and why I also purchased the Surface Dock. The product is definitely worth the price.

Bought this to replace my original Surface Book which I used and abused for several years on the road and at home. I really like the detachable/reversible screen which I used in various configurations to give presentations. The 15" screen is a big difference from my 13" one. The battery life seems a little longer and the 2TB SSD means that I will not run out of memory. Quirks and shortcomings from the original Surface Book that have not changed in this version include the speaker jack outlet placed at the upper right corner of the screen. The dangling cable gets in the way. Also, the two USB ports are located on the left rear of the keyboard. This means that, if you are using a any USB device, it must be plugged in on the left. Items like numeric keypads, normally used on the right side, must have the cable stretched around the back. or an extension, USB outlet used. Overall, I don't feel these are serious enough to downgrade one star (maybe 1/2 star). It is a solid upgrade from my original Surface Book. I recommend it (5 Stars)

I had the first surface book, but that one kept freezing up eventually broke. Sent it back to Microsoft they could not fix it so best buy refunded my money and I bought this bad puppy. Going good so far, Happy with the purchase. The only complaint is the warranty should start when you receive your product, It took 2 weeks to get.

I travel with it a lot, so I like the power packed into such a small package. I would prefer the ability to just fold the keyboard backwards as detaching and reattaching is an inconvenience and always seems as though I may break it. The sensitivity of the pen does not seem to rival or come close to a Wacom as was suggested by the salesperson. Also, the fans come on in tablet mode and blow out of the edges. I find this very uncomfortable compared to other tablets. I also had to download a new NVIDIA driver soon after purchasing it. This was not a seamless process, but without the download, I could not launch one of my favorite games which works fine on my 3 year old laptop. I almost took it back but decided the convenience of the package was worth the price of the smaller screen (15" compared to 21").

This is the second Surface Book we have purchased recently (for an additional family member). They are very solid, fast, reliable, and multi functional laptops. The only other laptop we would have considered was a VAIO. We have one of the original ones (from Sony) and it is still running great after 7 years, just getting a little slow and outdated. Unfortunately the new VAIOs no longer have a touch screen, as well as the larger HD and memory, so we decided on the Surface Book. The Surface price tag is higher though all in all you are getting just about everything you could think of, especially once you purchase the docking station.

I use this laptop as a portable lab to do software development and run some VMs using Microsoft Hyper-V. No issues with the touch screen or the detachable keyboard. Based on lighting the screen will adjust but easily fixed in the windows settings. Battery life is good and you can run multiple applications and get a 4-6hr charge depending on which apps are running.
