Waste of money
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a goo drecoder if you are not planning to save any data for future use. good points : 1)it has a good reception, records voice from 10-20 foot too. 2)Extreemly light 3)Volume is amazing 4)it has sensitive internal microphone . Bad points: 1)It consumes battery very quickly. 2)After all the memory is used ,there is no way to save the data but to delete it. 3)While fast forwarding we need to press and hold the forward button and sometimes it goes to end directly instead of fast forwarding since the button is so stiff.so we need to again start forwarding from the start to required point.

Got Class?
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As far as voice recorders go, this gets the job done better than most. Its digital, so no tapes...which is GREAT. Its got lotsa room, 4 seperate folders and you can save...im not really sure how much time in each folder, but it differs based on the quality of voice recording you go for, of course i'd recommend the highest quality setting. That's exactly how I did it, and I NEVER ran out of room. Of course, I only had two classes, in a Nursing Prgram that lasted 2 years. But the classes were sometimes 5 hours long. and sometimes, I'd record useless banter...so it has ample space for the average college student. The BIG problem is when you're playing it back, the button wheel is quite small...and you have to tap it to skip to the next file...or recording session, and hold it to fast forward or rewind within the recording session to a specific part... that's the BIG problem, with a 5 hour lecture...im holding the button trying to get to a specific point, and if I accidentally would release it and press it again, it would skip all the way to the beginning or end...and i'd have to do it all over again...or id be listening to it, and would try to rewind back a few seconds, and end up pressing it instead of holding it, and it would skip back to the beginning or end...VERY ANNOYING...alas, i put up with it...live with that, and your all good.

Well invested purchase
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had spent time doing research on several voice recorder and had stumbled upon the olympus. I need the recorder for my college class so i wanted to not only get the teacher's voice but also the students. Through experience I have found this is well worth it. It picks up sound with excellent quality!! Very easy to transfer to the computer and it helps me keep my classes organized because of the folder option. I definitely recommend this product!!!

Voice Recorder -Great
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I use this on the train when I want to remember to do something later. I don't have to have paper and pen. It's easy to use and affordable. Also, it has different files so A can be work items, B can be personal items, etc. The directions were difficult. I ended up asking my husband how to use it and it is as easy as 1, 2, 3. Just start checking it out; don't look at the directions. When you are not using it, you can turn if to an off position which saves the battery. It's a great product.

Questionable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I made a mistake buying this product. I should have spent a few dollars more and bought the recorder "plus music player". The playback quality is hardly usable, even when recording from a high quality speaker. You can upload to your PC, but can't download. From the PC, you can't look at the size or quantity of files on the recorder. Using earphones, only a single channel (one earphone) is fed sound. This was an expensive learning experience.
