Hi, thanks for your question and interest in model # HMT5755. The required cutout height if you are using the 27 inch trim kit would be 19 7/8 inches and the height of the trim kit is 20 1/2 inches. So there would be approximately 5/16 of an inch overlap on both the top and the bottom.
