“Why can't I get the 5 yr Geek plan on appliances on my Total Tech acct? I either have to pay extra for installation of dishwasher with 5 yr or go thru total tech get free delivery/installation but only 2 yr protection.”

I wish I knew why they don't offer it like that, but I compare extended warranty periods from L*wes and H8me Depot and appliance lifetimes (usually 3 years), and find that 5 years is practical. I didn't see the need for a Total Tech/GS membership, so we purchased the 5 year extended warranties on our appliances instead of the recurring monthly membership.

I kept insisting that their policy was punishing total tech members and they finally gave in and sold me the 5 year warranty. Talk to a manager or call the Best Buy number and the phone bank rep. will take care of it. They cancelled the shorter warranty and did a separate receipt for the longer one.
