yes, very easy, but no need to disconnect. has its own remote , makes it real easy to switch tv,vcr,dvd,etc

I was instructed to connect HDMI cabled to furnished Samsung box, instead of amplifier pass-through It works great with TV remote. Also, there was a digital cable output from switch box.
