“I have a digital optical sound cable to my Yamaha Sound Bar. But no sound. I have an Apple TV, Time-Warner Cable Box, Sony DVD plugged into my rocketfish switch - all controlled by a Harmony Ultimate Remote system. I'm unable to get sound and also having trouble getting the switch to move to another input when I launch an activity from the remote. Suggestions? To get sound now, I must unplug the optical cable from, say the cable box, to the Apple TV to complete the activity and watch anything served up my the Apple TV box.”

Plug all 3 into the 4-port switcher, the output HDMI directly to tv's hdmi port. Use the tv's optical audio output and run the toslink cable to A/V receiver or soundbar. Anything you hook up to hdmi, the tv's digital audio outputs transmit device audio.Use the remote that came with the switch box for best results.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I've had the same problems with this configuration. I've found that the Rocketfish box needs to be power cycled from time to time. It will work on channel 2 or 3 but not on 1. No idea why. I just know after I powered it off and on the sound returned.
