The Geek Squad warranty starts when you buy the product so it works alongside the manufacturer warranty. We have been able to get a robot vacuum exchanged immediately and didn't have to go to the manufacturer and deal with that hassle. We walked out with an exchanged vacuum within about 10 minutes.
