There's two single screw compartments on the bottom to do either job. It's as easy as it gets.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I can not comment on the RAM but it is simply a door for easy installation of additional RAM. As far as the additional drive. Yes you can install most any 2.5 format drive HDD or SSD. I could have installed a Western Digital Black Series HDD of 1 TB or 2. These drives have been the Gaming PC drives to use. I have used these in both desktop and laptop configuration. You will see a performance gain. However with how fast these Nitro 5s are I installed a Samsung 860 EVO 250 GB in the 2nd bay so that the DATA drive would have similar read & write speeds to the OS Drive. To the best of my knowledge the Pci-e that comes with the my Nitro 5 is about 1300 read with 800 write. So with the 500 something read and write of the Samsung makes for a Nice balance. Remember to find the (4) Upgrade screws that came with the PC in a small plastic ZIP lock bag. Also I'm sure you can install it yourself as the cables are right there when the cover is removed. But let the Geek install it and then just open "This PC" to see that the drive is recognized. Then simply go into Settings > and change for all new DATA to be directed to the 2nd d: drive. That's it your finished. I have tried to cover everything here, Hope it is of help to many. Grand National Mike
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's not hard- the memory is accessible via an access door on the bottom of the laptop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ram and hard drive swap have single screw dedicated access ports. Adding another drive would be the M.2 slot which requires taking the whole back panel off. It is still easy enough to do as there are plenty of guides on YouTube to follow if you feel uncomfortable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If you can turn a screw driver it’s easyboeasy. Power down device. Flip over. Use Phillips head screw driver to remove bottom plate. (Is one screw) note: there are 2 hatches. Larger one is for your add on hard drive. Smaller is ram. Don’t force anything to fit.
