“Is it a 4K monitor or 2K. The description says 3840 x 2160, but the specifications say the maximum resolution is 2560 x 1440. I suspect that's a typo, but I'd like confirmation on that.”

• I had noticed that discrepancy as well. I verified on manufacturer website before purchase, this is a 4k display. it is native 3840x2160 and I am using mine right now and can verify - see attached
