Well this has a heat-spread.. Which works perfectly fine for me. But you can opt for a heat sink instead. The difference? I think heat sinks work slightly better like 5 degrees better but it also is much bulkier. If you put the heat sink on the heat spreader. I suppose it could work. It be slightly more bulky. Depends on how much space you have. But thats overkill. Lol its like.. Can i put my fridge inside my freezer? The fridge works just fine . now if you are one of those extreme gamers.. With super high end gear. Yea.. Heat sink. Because you are paying like 500$ for gear and want the most of your gear to have max life span. This is a budget m.2 card. A heat spread will keep it cool enough to last 3 or 5 years.. Depending on use or maybe longer. By then.. You can easily replace or upgrade in the future with faster speed and cheaper price. But if you have the top of the line stuff now? And want 5 to 7 years of life span.. Then yea.. Keep the best preventative measure. Anyway.. I plan to use this for about 3 to 5 years in my ps5. And probably get a 2tb or 4tb later or just get a ps5 pro down the line. Good luck.man
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes most heatsinks are packaged separately and usually need to be installed before the SSD can be installed. Any other heatsink depending on the use will work. PS% requires a specific height.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sure you can but if you plan on using for a PS5, make sure the heatsink fit in height. For PC, you can just not used its original, if your motherboard has one as for my case because it would be too thick. The heatsink came not applied because in case you don't need it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don’t know if I would do that. It comes with one already. It would seem pointless
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It comes with the heat sink unattached, so you can add a third party heat sink if you’d like. Just make sure it’s the right size.
