The 1 % off chance is that the software or operating system didnt include the compatible software.. But we are talking about a popular brand. So.. Normally when its brand name.. Its like 99% going to work. And if not.. If its brand spanking new.. Which this is couple years old. Sometimes.. You got to do a bios update. Anyway.. The more important note is. That laptop does not say if it has a extra slot or the m.2 slot is used up by the 512 gb card. I suspect it is the latter. So you probably wont have 512 + 1000gb. It would replace the 512gb. Since its a lower end gaming laptop that is extremely light. Vs. A bulky tank with alien ware 6lb laptop that have like 3 slots.. If you are just wanting a upgrade. Go for this. Swap it out. You can call ahead and ask if the m.2 slot is already used.. I think its about 25% chance you going to have an extra slot. When they dont mention or sell the "extra" slot or advertise it. It normallt means.. You going to not "add" on but swap. However the memory is only taking up 1 slot out of 2. So you can plug another 8gb or whatever. Just match the frequency speed I would consider getting the 2gb adata if you going to swap. But it depends on how much storage space u need. And if you dont mind using a external drive. Good luck
