It depends how noisy. I think you would find the ambient noise too loud especially if you were trying to code surgical notes. You’d be better off wearing a full ear headset on one ear.

The challenge for dictation is the mic will pick up the noise from the surrounding area. I have also used the Plantronics head set which works extremely well. The bluetooth type that you would use for the cell phone. Some have great noise cancelling.
