When running basic tasks it is VERY quite. Get rolling on an intense game and it can/will start humming. First step is updating the Bios. That helped a LOT but still gets going under heavy load. BestBuy should have ordered their model with the water cooler. It would of been better than adding the WiFi 6 adapter in my opinion.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Not going to lie. They're pretty loud. The main culprit is the fan in the front of the case. That sucker howls at full throttle. There is an Alienware Control app that let's you control the fan speeds. I have played with it and if you don't let the front fan go full speed, maybe max at 60%, it just sounds like air blowing through. I know Dells sells these models with liquid cooling on the CPU. I might see if Dell sells just that part and retrofit it.. but only if it's not too expensive. The fans only kick off when I'm playing a game or rendering 4k video (encoding, not decoding). I am usually wearing headphones so if you play with headphones and no one else is in the room it won't be a big deal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Normal day to day work doesn't even spin up the fans as far as I can tell however when I put Overwatch on Ultra quality it sounds like a rocket ship taking off when I first start it but then it calms down to a more silent level.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Noticeable but liveable imo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The fans are super quiet when your not playing games...however they do get loud when you do play. I use a headset so they never bother me. I would assume most gamers play with a headset. Hope this helps.
