Hello. I have an 18' Ranger bass boat. I was rocking out on Toledo Bend with this speaker. Water spray was no problem. It is heavy enough to stay put when the waves come in while you are fishing. Naturally, I would leave it by the trolling motor when you take off to the next spot. It does have a threaded female insert on the bottom for mounting hardware. I just left it in on the deck while I was fishing.

This should work for what you want it for. It has a mounting adapter, so you can probably find a way to get it to securely mount on your boat.
