“Can I use this on a roku television to hook up a surround sound that is not roku brand? I didn’t realize everything had to be roku to be compatible. I don’t want to go through the hassle of returning the tv.”

• I haven't tried Surround Sound. For that, If it is doable, it will likely require you plug the Transmitter into the Optical Audio Out. I looked through a few here on BestBuy, but they didn't say Surround Sound, just Optical or Digital.
