Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The ABC01F can operate in TX or RX mode. TX for transmitting and RX for receiving. Your question depends on whether the soundbar is Bluetooth capable. If not, then route the TV into the soundbar using the optical cable. Then if the soundbar has an audio OUTPUT, directly hook that output into the Aluratek ABC01F. Now pair the ABC01F with headphones via Bluetooth. This is probably the better setup, but it requires that your soundbar have an AUDIO OUTPUT. If the OUTPUT is optical only then you will need a different device that offers optical. Our ABCD54F and ABC53F offer optical. If you TV has an AUX OUTPUT, then that can be directly wired into the ABC01F and then you can pair the ABC with headphones. You should need to check your TV settings to see if they offer the ability to send audio out both optical (to the sound bar) and out AUX (to the ABC01F) at the same time. Many TVs do not offer this feature. With most TVs, even modern TVs, you either use OPTICAL out or you use AUX analog out.
