• I found mine operated my ear buds and the TV audio worked as intended.

• This all depends on the TV. Most older TVs do not provide this ability. Once the sounded is routed out the headphone jack or the AUX audio output the TV usually does not send to the speakers as well. The Aluratek would have nothing to do with this. Some newer TVs that use Optical Out do offer routing to the Digital Optical/PCM output and also through the TV speakers or to a sound bar. You must check with your TV manufacturer for details.
