After 2 or 3 years it is possible the battery may no longer power fully. With the unit turned off, charge the unit and if a red LED is showing then most likely the battery can be fully charged. Just make sure the device is OFF. When it is left on all the time, even if charging, it becomes a power in / power out vacuum and the battery does not fully charge.
