Hi Huckleberry, Yes! The 43" Omni Series TV does work without Alexa in the home. Alexa is built into this television as an assistant you can utilize with your voice - no remote needed! The TV comes with a remote, and you do have the ability to screen mirror from your MacBook Pro by plugging it into an hdmi cord and connecting it to the tv! You can also use Airplay to share videos, photos and music, and more from your compatible iPhone or iPad to your Fire TV Omni Series. Hope that helps!
