“If I purchased the Amazon fire cube would I still need an Amazon fire stick as well. If so, how compatible would they work together. So I'm basically asking, buy buying both would the cube help run streaming faster and easier or are both devices kinda sam”

No. You do not need a firestick. You need one or the other. I would go with the cube as it had more options and better connectivity.

The Fire TV Cube creates a hands free home theater experience where you can speak directly to your television and give commands without using your remote.
