• I am not sure but you can download a lot of network apps and sign in to them using your Dish account.

• You need Wifi for apps to stream on this device. I can lose my Direct TV cable bill including their receivers to download their own app (Direct TV now) or their competitors for $30 vs $130.00. Hope this answers your question.
