Take the batteries out of the remote and put them back in and then try it again. You can go to settings then scroll to Bluetooth and controlers. There will be instructions on how to link your controller to your fire stick but I think you're doing it right. If the controller still does not work you can always download Fire TV remote to your cell phone or to a tablet and you can control your fire stick from that also it's on the Google Play store or the Apple Store and it's free. It's a good temporary solution but kind of a pain when you get a phone call or have to make a text.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Check batteries, if that doesn't help, reboot fire stick, ( unplug power to fire stick and unplug fire stick from tv, wait 30seconds and plug it all back in and wait for it to restart.) Takes a few minutes. If it still doesn't help , call tech support you have a bad remote. Check this out, my tv remote also runs the fire stick.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try taking the batteries out and put it back in. If not there's fire tv app remote in the AppStore or android.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Try removing batteries, installing fresh new batteries, hold remote right next to stick and hold home button in for up to a minute. I've had to hold the home button a few times up to a minute to have the stick sync with the remote. If that doesn't work it is probably defective.
