Look at a picture of the remote control. The new one is more rounded and has the Alexa speech button on top.

You can't buy the old ones anymore, so chances are its the new one.

Alexa voice remote let's you know its the new one... If it doesn't come with Alexa its an older version...

Plug it into your tv, connect to your internet and it will prompt you to upgrade to the newest version. If you don't want a new version, deny the upgrade and exit out of the prompt menu.

The Newest version came out with voice control, so you can tell by looking at the remote for the mic button or packaging stating voice control. Older version does not have this feature.

As far as I can tell the ones on bestbuy and the amazon site are the latest version. If anything youll have to do a software update. I purchased one from both sites and they are the same version.
