Hi, I have Samsung smart 4K TV and I love fire stick, few things you get with Fire stick. Alexa voice search witch lets you search for any info, think of it like Siri on IPhone plus you can search for movies or shows. You can also download Kodi on your fire stick and watch basically everything for free.

Won't be a waste as you can download more apps onto it, spotify, hbo, prime etc.... For the price its not a bad option to have, especially with the smart Tv's monitoring us it would be best to disconnect the tv and use the stick instead, may be faster as well
