A lot of libraries use the Libby app which you can sign up for with a library card. You'll have to adjust some settings to get it to send to your Kindle by default but after that it is super convenient (it redirects you to Amazon to send a book to Kindle)

All that you will need to do to find this out is by going to your libraries web page and looking for this option. As long as you have a membership at the library you will have access to checking out books using your library PIN and an Amazon Account Sign in. There is no charge for the Amazon sign in.
