Hello, CC! The Kindle Paperwhite Supports 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi networks with support for WEP, WPA and WPA2 security using password authentication or Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS). Does not support connecting to ad-hoc (or peer-to-peer) Wi-Fi networks. Also, with the Kindle Paperwhite you can store thousands of titles, then take them all with you. You can use wifi. Just download your book and you can read with no wifi if it's open.
