• Yes, this device would be fantastic for that. As I have previously explained to another person with a similar question, the backlight plus the ability to make the fonts very very large would be ideal for someone in old age with poor eye sight. I would advise this over the original kindle. Also, the fonts are very crisp so it adds to ease of reading.
