• Yes it is for what you get (at least to my family). An e-reader that can be read in bright sun light with no glare.

• Once you get used to the using the paperwhite you will be happy with your purchase especially when traveling.

• What are you comparing it to that you think it's too much? Comparable e-readers are roughly the same price so I think it's fair.

• Yes it is. Stay with the ad-supported version to save $. Ads hardly are noticable. Don't go up to the most expensive model as not worth it. I was able to get it on pre-Christmas sale for $99
