any 500 mobo will work out of the box with it, unless you get a used mobo. most x570 mobo can update bios with out a cpu installed tho. i run Strix x570-I gaming mini itx

This processor is a socket AM4 for reference when shopping for motherboards. The manufacturer web sites will have updated info about the BIOS version. I had a Ryzen 2200G system and updated the bios before I installed this new CPU. Look for a motherboard that can flash the bios without a processor, I have a MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard. It has a Flash BIOS Button that only requires a USB drive with the latest BIOS version copied on it to do this update.
