The Ryzen 5 2400G is more like the i7 8700, but presumably the motherboard you have is for the intel cpu chipsets and you would want to get a motherboard that is compatable with amd cpu chipsets like the MSI Pro Carbon X470 amd motherboard. But before you go out buying a board i would do some research and look up compatability, especially look at pros and cons such as intel cpu chipsets may have some features that amd chipsets dont, this is a pro con situation cause it goes both ways such as an amd cpu may have overclocking capabilities while intel may have higher clockspeeds pre-configured, but the newer amd chipsets have those clockspeed configurations unlocked so you can configure them to what you are comfortable with. The other thing to look at is pricing, amd cpu parts are very affordable, compared to intel, but intel cpu parts are very simplified, and are what lots of first time pc builders will go with, amd is for more of gamer enthusiast people. Weigh your options very carfully and Do Your Research First!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Much better ... especially for the buck . Search benchmark test
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes! And a little better than the i7 actually. AMD has stepped up their game (no pun intended) in the past couple of product lines and especially their new products (3700 series) that are coming out are top of the line. I highly recommend the newer AMD products to anyone out there. I stream, open browsers, play games, and listen to music all at the same time and my rig handles perfectly fine. That’s with 16gb of ram and a 1080 graphics card and a gaming pro carbon motherboard. An absolute dream!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.the 2700 has 8 cores 16 threads @ 3.7ghz the 8700 has 6 cores 12 threads @ 3.7Ghz AMD cost is about 100$ less - I am happy with my 2700
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This CPU will only fit with socket AM4 motherboards. So if you already have one of those, then this CPU will fit in it. As to the performance, the 2700x will score 1750 in cinebench where the i7-8700 scores about 1300-1400 depending on clock speed. For gaming, the intel cpus still outperform AMD, but depending on your resolution, you may not see any difference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Think of this like building a car, If you put the right engine and transmission on the right frame , it will run like a champ. What happens to new builders is they put the best processor on the wrong motherboard , with the wrong memory. Always build pure systems, nothing will crash.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this is similar in function to a i7-8700k. Depends on what you are looking to do with the computer. But Ryzen 2700 will definitely provide a smooth experience for whatever you’re doing
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. They will feel remarkably similar, however you will notice a higher performance from the 8700 in gaming, and a much higher performance from the 2700 during heavily threaded applications
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This processor is compatible to the i7 8700 processor. I have it in my pc and love it. Definitely the fastest pc of all my friends.
