While I don't have a B550 MB (bit the bullet for an X570 when I made the switch to AMD), I will suggest that it's always a good idea to check for updates frequently.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope, it worked right out of the box on my ASUS B550 Mobo no problem. I would still recommend updating UEFI bios after installation to take advantage of some of the tweaks and improvements made, but it should work just fine as-is.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It depends on the motherboard. Most motherboards now come shipped with the updated Bios. It will say on the mobo box “Ryzen 5000 Ready.” If the box doesn’t say that then you will need to update the bios.
