If you use the two earbuds together, they cannot connect to multiple devices; If you use them separately, yes, the two buds can be paired and connected to two devices.  You can do this by the following steps:
- Take the right earbuds out of the charging case, and put the left side into the charging case
- Press and hold the button on the bottom of the charging case for 10 seconds until the LED indicators on left earbuds flash red light, then you will see a breath light on the left side
- Then press and hold the button on the bottom of the charging case for 3 seconds until the light on the left side become quick flash.
- After this, you can pair the left and the right earbuds to two devices separately.

Just make sure you pair the buds with both phones and it should automatically connect to the phone that you are using at the time.

You can pair them to any device but they will automatically connect to whichever device you have selected as default. example Mine are connected to my phone and car it will automatically connect. If I paired them with my husband's phone, I would have to manually select and disconnect.

Yes, you need to disconnect or remove the airpod from your old phone.
