Most Laptops if not too old come with an HDMI port or two built in. This AOC monitor comes with its own HDMi cable which is a nice convenience. I also hooked up this monitor to my HP laptop using the HDMI port and connector. See my two attached pictures; one showing the AOC front along with my Laptop and the other pic showing the direct HDMI monitor to Laptop cable connection.
