“Hooking this monitor up to a laptop for transcription. Purchased another brand that doesn't give me audio so returning and looking at this. Audio is a must for me. Other brand connects HDMI and is a known problem, no audio.”

This monitor has no speakers so it will not provide any audio. You will need external speakers or to get a different monitor.
