A lot of the negative reviews on the apple site are because it's not included in the box and people are upset that they have to pay extra for it. The cable itself is great, and yes, it's the same one.

Sometimes the reviewer could be biased to another platform, and giving the overall score a bit lower. If there isn’t a comparison between 2 or more products, I’d probably move on to the next review.

That’s probably what most people do and then blame it onn the product. Its the same chord and I havent had any issues with it. Those could be haters putting apple down on their site. Very few instances do things come defective as nothing is perfect.
