This is not going to work for what you are describing. An hdmi connection would be coming from a video source such as a cable box, Roku, or with a new adapter the new iPad pros. Through it they connect to a display. There are lightning to hdmi adapters but none of them have great reviews and I can’t guarantee they will work for what you need it for.
