• The tips are basically the same they just made an Extra Small size. First it was just SML Small Medium and Large. For the second Gen of AirPods they made XS S M L ear tips. All of first gen ear tips is still compatible with the second gen AirPods

• They have a plastic piece sticking out but it comes with multiple size earcups so hopefully one of them fits well. It definitely feels like they would fall out if you did not have that your earcups in
