• I don’t think so. Unless I believe, there are wifi nearby. Call Apple. I bought my granddaughters with the wrist band & we use it when we go to malls (just in case). & I am always checking it & it works. My dog that escapes has one & it has been a blessing. There are different types of trackers for children that are nationwide, investigate on web good luck
