“I hear this product although no fault of the manufacturer is being used to track ppl to no knowledge of themselves. Is there a way to check if someone has put one in yr possession i.e. a coat pocket or yr car glove box?”

A notification will appear on your iPhone that there is one in your vicinity that isn’t yours. Don’t know if it will appear on other brands.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Find My app on your iPhone will alert you if an air tag that does not belong to you is following you for an extended period. Once you receive that notification you can disable AirTag and also track its location. Also, when the owner of an AirTag activates it for a location, the AirTag will beep this function cannot be disabled. I do not know if you can track or discover an AirTag without an iOS device.
