• You can get it unlocked. You will need your own SIM card for carrier.

• We bought our last phones from BB and purchased them unlocked.

• To get a truly unlocked one you will need to buy from Apple and get the sim free unlocked version. Otherwise once you put a carrier sim into it it may be locked temporarily yo that carrier per their policy. Verizon for example new policy will lock it for 60 days. Others time period are often longer.

• I wouldn’t trust bestbuy to sell you an unlocked phone. From what I’ve heard, as soon as you put a carrier sim in one, it automatically locks to that network. Although, I don’t think the ESIM auto locks.
