after i purchase my 16promax with 1tb thru best buy (at&T) i know ill get the $1000 trade in credits after they recieve the phone im replacing, but how do i get the apple care lost or stolen added to the apple care plus i get with my total tech null

As far as I’ve understood from the best buy manager at my store is they don’t offer the lost and stolen care plus via their total tech, just the standard apple care, and I have yet to find a way to add it after. I’m guessing we need to try to contact apple directly but searching elsewhere online other say the same and haven’t been successful in getting the lost and stolen added so I just have the theft insurance via my att carrier
