“I have a plan with sprint, lease is up in Feb. I have a 6S so I have an upgrade. Do I have to wait until Feb? Or can I get the 7 for the $18 a month plan now? Will I have to pay off the 6 first to sprint?”

No with the Sprint Lease you’re eligible to upgrade after 12 months. You would just have to turn in the device.
