“Could I buy a new phone for full price at best buy and take it to Verizon and have my data switched to the new phone? And if I could, could I stay on my original phone plan or will that require me to get a whole new plan?”

I got my iPhone 7plus 128gb at Best Buy and had the option to pay in full but chose the installment plan. Best Buy transferred the data that I wanted to have transferred at no charge. I made no changes to my Verizon plan. The salesperson reviewed it with me and we kept the same plan.

The sales rep was great and very knowledgeable. We were able to upload all data from previous phone thru iCloud, no problems at all. All info, including contacts, loaded perfectly. Doesn’t interrupt your current carrier plan, everything transfers over to new phone and you should receive an update from your carrier after the purchase is complete.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you can still stay on your original plan. Also Best Buy is an authorized Verizon dealer and they can add your new phone to your plan right there. No need to go to another Verizon store. I just did the same thing.
