The sound quality is really good. The speakers on this - should you use it that way - are much louder than on our 6 / SE. I can't offer you anything other than anecdotal evidence as to the real quality, but I bet your local BB store has several employees in the phone area who are already carrying this. I bet someone would let you make a call so you can listen...
