“M y current phone Nexus loses internet connections ALL THE TIME. I constantly hear lost connection or no signal. Is this true of Apple phones. I have no directional knowledge and want to trust hotspot connections so I still have my maps talking to me.”

All iPhones have inferior signal strength when compared to Android's signal strength, for alot of reasons. If you have an Android and are having signal issues. It could be your phone is not compatible with the towers in the area, or your network simply has holes in coverage. You could try upgrading to a newer phone, or a different network. Each network has locations that they are better in. No network is good everywhere. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees when it comes to data coverage
