Q: QuestionDoes the $9.99/month offer for the AT&T iPhone 8 require that I stay with AT&T for the next 30 months. This is likely to be the case but if I move to a Lake it may not offer AT&T service? Can I just pay $300 up front (plus the tax on the $450 list price?

• A:Answer Personal choice and opinion here, but I just upgraded to the iPhone 8 Plus. I absolutely love it! Yes, the price is an investment, but I think of it as a total package in my hands....computer access, phone, camera, email, social media all at my fingertips. I am NOT a computer guru, but I can be anywhere and have it all at hand. Buying all of these things individually would cost you no less. Plus, this camera is phenomenal! We all have our things that we drop endless dollars on because it’s what we want. Every manufacturer does the same thing. Good luck making your decision to move forward or stay where you are.

• A:Answer Because they're trying to encourage you to do the monthly installment (which is the same price as everywhere else). You can try to price match it but they may not do it for you. I've heard of some best buy's matching price.

• A:Answer I spoke with Best Buy customer service rep from a local store and they told me they price-match Apple. It makes no sense that the "retail" price of the phone would be $799 when you may order one from apple.com without a carrier for $699. Is Best Buy trying to lure in customers who want the latest and greatest only to charge them a higher price? I can't say, but it seems oddly fishy because I can guarantee not everyone would dig deeper in to this. Just trying to add my two-cents. Since I already had ordered an iPhone 8 on apple.com, I declined to risk cancelling that order for what a rep told me over the phone. Proceed at your own risk & do your homework before shelling out $699+.
