The iPhone 8 does appear externally very similar - if not identical to the iPhone 7 but the internal specs are different. A processor that is considerably faster and camera upgrades are the main talking points.

The 8's design was likely put on the backburner for the iPhone 10's design, so perhaps that may be a better choice if you are looking for a new design. If not, then the iPhone 7 is just about the same as the 8.
