“Is the lightening bolt inside the battery icon during charging suppose to go away after being 100% charged? I noticed the lightening bolt within the battery stayed on constantly after being fully charged; until the charger was unplugged.”

With Li-ion batteries it is best to remove from the charger at 100%. Depending on what you're charging with. The Li-ion batteries also SHOULD NOT be completely discharged. This shortens their life and can cause dangerously high heat levels when re-charging. Li-ion batteries work best if you keep the charge between 30% and 90-100%. Also you should not charge them when very cold. (near freezing) If you leave your phone in your car in a freezing climate don't leave it in a wireless charger, if your car has one, until you have warmed the car up. I am not a chemical engineer, but I got these guidelines from someone who was an originator of Li-ion battery manufacture. Failure to watch out for these extremes is why Li-ion batteries catch fire or violently discharge their energy if they internally short. He started 2 companies that made the Li-ion batteries and knows all about them. This information pertains to ALL Li-ion batteries not just Samsung note 7's or Apple products. BJB
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The lightning bolt means that the phone is currently being charged. Even at 100%, if it’s being charged, the lightning bolt will stay on the screen. If you want it off, just stop charging your phone. It’s not harming anything by using it while charging at 100%. But it is good to drain the battery every now and again to preserve the life of the battery. Hope that helps.
