If you are with Sprint, it will take time. I purchased my phone, but for some reason Sprint locked it. I put in a request to Sprint to unlock on 7/10/2019 and as 5PM July 19, 2019 my phone is still locked. Be careful with misinformation by Sprint Customer Service Representatives. Prior to unlocking, your phone must be paid in full, you have to put in a separate request to unlock, and you have to pay your last bill. It has been a nightmare switching phone carriers from Sprint. I have literally spent at least spent 7 to 9 hours on the phone between Verizon and Sprint.
