Sprint is not a gsm network, at least currently, depending on their merger with t mobile. As for getting an unlocked phone I believe if it's paid off you can have Sprint unlock it to be used on any cdma Network or go to apple and pay an extra 100 for a fully unlocked no carrier phone that can be used on any network gsm or cdma I believe
